Ubisoft has put their Gameloft studio at hard work and the developers are working on a number of PS Vita titles that will be available for purchase on day one of the handheld’s launch in the US and Europe. One of the games that will hit the stores soon (on February 14th, one day prior to the launch of the PS Vita) is Asphalt: Injection and I am here to share with you a preview on the game (screenshots and box art at the end of the preview).
The game was presented on the PlayStation blog and the intro makes a point: “Personally, I think racing games shine on handheld devices. Think of it this way: you’re commuting home from work and sitting on a bus or a train. Though your progress may be pokey, your mind is completely focused on the blistering competition between your Bugatti Super Sport and everyone else on the track. For that short time, you completely forget about your commute. So, if your mind works like mine, you should definitely be excited for the arcade racing action of Asphalt: Injection.”
As you can see in the screenshots attached, Asphalt: Injection looks really well on the PS Vita even though the visuals are not completely next gen and we’ve seen PS Vita games looking better. But it’s arcade racing after all and the action is what matters the most.
And we’ll get a plenty of it in Asphalt: Injection, as the PS Vita game will boast 10 game modes, including high adrenaline ones like Cop Chase or even Beat ‘Em All where you’ll be focusing on taking down your opponents. And if this is not enough for you, Asphalt: Injection also allows multiplayer through WiFi or LAN.
Of course that the new features of the PS Vita will be put to maximum use by Asphalt: Injection which has six different control schemes and also uses the rear touch screen, the accelerometer and, of course, the dual analog sticks. So you’ll get a game that takes advantage of all the new technology the Vita puts on the table.
So all I can say from this early info is that Asphalt: Injection seems like a really cool game and Ubisoft and Gameloft should be really proud of it. If you think the same, make sure that you purchase the game on February 14th and get your engines ready!
And now, let’s check out some images of the game. We’ll start with the box art of Asphalt: Injection:
