We’ve got some not-so-good news for our readers from Canada: Sony has announced that the 3G model of the PS Vita will be delayed in Canada, most likely because of some problems between the manufacturers and their 3G partner in Canada.
According to Kotaku, the launch of the 3G Model of the PS Vita in Canada will be delayed until April 2012 and those who had already pre-ordered it received an e-mail informing them about the problems.
However, Sony defend themselves and say that they have never actually announced the release date of the 3G model in Canada, so we’re not talking about an actual delay here:
Sony says the 3G model was never announced for a February launch in Canada in the first place, and that “We will announce further details on 3G availability when ready”.
Either way, it’s certainly saddening news for the Canadian gamers. Or at least the PS Vita fans there.
Mobile Phone companies in Canada are very Monopolized, as a result prices here for phone plans as well as data plans are a rip-off. These providers vigorously fight any competition from even coming to the market. I can’t wait for Ps Vita 3g in Canada. But I am afraid that the real reason it is taking so long is to figure out how they can take from us Canadians. That is probably the real reason for the delay. It is unbelievable how much we pay for the same service compared to the USA.
